Customized written OSHA Programs & Plans

OSHA regulations require that healthcare facilities have customized written programs that address the safety of their employees. To satisfy this requirement, Safety Compliance Services & Consulting creates a customized written program for our clients that is comprised of the following areas:

• Injury and Illness Prevention (IIPP)
• Hazard Communication  (29 CFR 1910.1200)
• Exposure Control Plan /Bloodborne Pathogens (29 CFR 1910.1030)
• Fire Prevention and Emergency Action Plan (29 CFR 1910.38, 1910.39)
• Record Keeping - forms and regulations (29 CFR 1910.1030(h) (1) (i))

Employee Training

Aside from the requirements to have written safety programs, OSHA mandates that employees receive job appropriate safety training. Safety Compliance Services & Consulting provides this training via a comprehensive 2 hour seminar that encompasses the 6 areas mentioned above. The seminar is either delivered as an in-service, or conducted at NY Hospital Medical Center of Queens or at one of our other training locations. Attendees of the seminar are issued a certificate of recognition for completion of an OSHA safety training course.

Detailed inspection of the facility

SCS&C performs a detailed inspection of the facility and provides a complete report indicating any potential safety hazards or violations of OSHA regulations, and instruction on abatement as needed. This “mock” OSHA inspection helps ensure the safety of the staff and can save you thousands of dollars in OSHA fines and penalties.

Signs, Labeling, Posters and MSDS Manual

Safety Compliance Services & Consulting provides a full set of required employee notification posters meeting Federal & State requirements. During the thorough inspection of the facility our compliance expert will remedy any deficiencies in proper labeling and signage. Other than illuminated exit signs, SCS&C will supply and affix all labels and signs required to make the facility fully complaint with OSHA regulations. This includes everything from signs indicating eyewash stations, fire extinguishers and first aid kits, to the labeling of biohazard areas and any secondary containers in keeping with OSHA’s Hazard Communication (“right to know”) laws. SCS&C also uses our extensive chemical database to create a customized, indexed MSDS manual containing Material Safety Data Sheets for the chemicals found at your facility.

Updates, Ongoing Training and Inspection

Safety Compliance Services & Consulting provides ongoing employee refresher training, inspections, and abatement assistance to maintain a high level of compliance and a safe work environment. All our maintenance programs include a thorough annual inspection.

Dealing with OSHA

When notification of an OSHA inspection is given, we will perform a detailed consultation/inspection prior to OSHA’s site visit, and we will be present to assist during the OSHA walkthrough. We will handle OSHA correspondence, and have a representative at any related OSHA court appearances and/or board hearings.
 
Guarantee

Our training and inspection process is so thorough that our clients can be confident that they are fully OSHA compliant. We offer clients on our maintenance program a guarantee. If they follow the instructions of our inspector and the guidelines of our training materials and get an OSHA fine, Safety Compliance Services & Consulting will pay it.
